National selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017
Junior Eurovision is a traditional annual international song contest. Each country participating in the competition is represented by one performer who took part in writing the song. To select a participant who will represent the country, a two-stage National selection for Junior Eurovision is held.
On April 20 , 2017 , the semi-final of the national selection for Junior Eurovision took place. Veronica successfully made it through the semi-finals and made it to the finals of the selection.
At the request of the competition, in order to participate in the finals of the National Selection, you must write an original song. Veronica performed the song “I would like to know everything,” which was written especially for the competition by Veronica’s colleague in the musical “The Ballad of a Little Heart,” a participant in the show “The Voice. Children - 2 " and the representative of Russia at the Junior Eurovision 2015 contest Misha Smirnov.
On May 27 , 2017 , online spectator voting began to determine the favorites. The final of the National selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held on June 4 at the Artek International Children's Center. The selection was organized by the Igor Krutoy Academy of Popular Music. The National Selection was broadcast live by the Karusel TV channel.
Based on the results of audience and expert voting, Veronica took 2nd place in the National selection, losing to Polina Bogusevich, who performed the song “Wings” and brought her victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 .
